We put in new ink cartrages and the black is not printing

How do i remove the cartridge

Do you need to remove the cartridge from your printer, did I get you right?

By the way, is there any message on the LCD screen, that says "Cartridge needs to be replaced"?
If you are replacing a cartridge before you see a message on the LCD screen, press the home button if necessary, and select Maintenance > Ink CartridgeReplacement > Next > Start.

  1. Lift up the scanner unit until it locks into place.
  2. Squeeze the tab on the cartridge and lift the cartridge straight up to remove it

ok it is complete. I tested the printer and the black in working . Do all the cartrIdges need shaken to work properly?

Only the black one should be shaken.
Also do not shake the cartridges after opening the packages, or ink may leak.
