Why is kindle displaying my books in landscape

Does it show you in a landscape even if you rotate your device?
Yes
Open your book. Tap anywhere at the top of the screen, then tap the “Aa” icon to access the Display Settings menu. Tap “Layout.” Then, under Orientation select which one you prefer
I'm not getting the AA icon at the when I pulled up tap the top

Do you see the "Layout" title?
I've got a font layout themes and more as my options
There should be just "Layout" in the title
My options are margin spacing alignment columns and then I have an orientation lock
Do you mean you cannot select the Orientation?
I have an orientation lock option that I can either turn it on or off
Is it turned off now?
It should be turned off
I mean, unlocked
Okay I turned it off so hopefully that means it will leave my pages and portrait?
Now it should change when you rotate your Kindle
