My printer said paper was jammed and I checked all possible places and no paper jammed

Now it says support code 6004 and a list of instructions. I have switched it off and on all through the day and still I can't print. Is it ready for the bin I wonder

What troubleshooting have you done so far?

Well I have turned it off and on many times today and checked all the places where paper can be jammed and there is not any paper jammed, Then it said the top bit was open when it wasn't and now it is telling me there is a printer error, Support code 6004 with a list of instructions and still I cannot print. It was working fine yesterday
oh and incidentally the Scanner program on it wont work for me either

Support Code 6004 generally means that there may be foreign material inside the printer.
1. Turn off your printer and unplug it.
2. Open the scanning unit / cover.
3. Using a flashlight, check for any scraps of paper or other foreign material. If you see any, remove it.
Are you sure you checked carefully?
