You need to change the keyboard layout on a Windows computer from the UK to the US. Please, follow these steps:

Click on the Windows Start button and select Settings (gear icon).
In the Settings window, select Time & Language.
In the Time & Language window, select Language from the left-hand menu.
Under Preferred Languages, click on the language you want to add, in this case, "English (United States)".
Click on Options and then click on "Add a keyboard".

Select the "US QWERTY" keyboard layout from the list of options.
Remove the UK keyboard layout, if you don't need it, by clicking on it and then clicking on "Remove".
Close the Settings window and the new keyboard layout will be applied.

I don't have an OPTIONS menu nor the US QWERTY option. I've chosen English Aust for the layout therefore. I'll now try and see if my @ and it does work and my # and it works. Thanks. you've done it!!
