i just got an email saying some implanted trojan malware. they had my old password for a few years ago and they're demanding a ransom,

but how do they know my old password?
Your old password is very simple ( they could use some brute-force software to find it). Just change it to a strong one.

I recommend it to have 8-10 digits with 1 capital letter and 2 symbols ( like # or $ )

yes, I'm actually nor worried about the camera thing - if he hacked it he'd find really boring stuff like pictures of my cats etc :-)
