I have no keyboard on motorola phone and am unable to do anything that requires a typed message!
Short summary:
- Restart your phone by holding down the power and volume down buttons for 5 seconds.
- Wait for your phone to restart fully.
- If the keyboard still doesn't work:
- Open the Settings app.
- Look for the keyboard app in the list of available apps (it may be named Gboard).
- Tap on the keyboard app to open it.
- Force stop the keyboard.
- Tap on "Storage".
- Clear the data for the keyboard app.

just did it...it did not give me the power off message!

- Tap Apps - > Expand all apps.
- Look for the keyboard in the list of available apps and open it.
- Force stop the keyboard
- Tap Storage.
- Clear data and restart your device.
