Got you.
To install HP Smart please do the following:

  1. Download the HP Smart app from App Store connection before downloading.
  2. If you are setting up HP Smart for the first time, you must create or sign in to an HP account to access all printer functions.
  3. In HP Smart, click Add Printer or the plus sign to search for the printer, and then follow the instructions to complete the setup.
Please, follow the link below to install the HP Smart app:

In HP Smart, click "Add Printer" or the "plus Do I click "Set up a New Printer?"
*****, are you signed in to your account in the HP Smart app?

Customer Replay

I don't think so. I can click "Sign in." Do I do that?

Did you sign up previously ?
When you were setting up the printer for the 1st time.

Customer Replay

It's been several years...I don't remember.

I understood.
Are you able to sign in to the account ?

Customer Replay

I don't think I have an account. I clicked that I forgot my password, and nothing happened. Can I set up an account?

banner 9

Sure, *****
Then, create an HP account and register your printer
So, click on "Set-up a new printer"

Customer Replay

It says "Add Your First Printer." Then I have the option to "Add Printer." Do I click that?

Yes, that's right.

Customer Replay

It says, "No Printer Found."
It is plugged in and powered on.
One option is to "add using IP address," but I don't know that info.

Could you please disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and plug it out from the wall outlet?

Customer Replay

Done. Do you want me to reconnect it?

Yes, that's right!

Customer Replay

Okay. Hang on.

Of course, take your time.

Customer Replay

done

Well
Turn on your printer, please

Customer Replay

fone
Sorry. Done

No worries, its' okay :)
Did you install all the Ink cartridges in your printer?

Customer Replay

I got the same message: "No printer found." It gives me an option to us the IP address. I don't know that.

Let's figure it out.
Make sure the printer is connected to the local network through Wi-Fi or an Ethernet cable to the router.

Customer Replay

So that would be where my router plugs into the wall?

Your printer should be connected to the to Wi-Fi network or directly to the router via cable.

Customer Replay

My router and modem are in a different room from my desk top and printer.

Is your printer connected to the Wi-Fi right now ?

Customer Replay

I don't know how to tell that.

Customer Replay

the Wi Fi signal on my printer it flashing blue. I think that's normal.

Thank you for the details!
*****, you have a touchscreen on your printer, is it right?

Customer Replay

Yes.

Open the Wireless Summary or Network Settings menu on your printer to find the IP address.
How is it going, *****?

Customer Replay

It says "not connected." This is annoying.

I understand your feelings, *****

Customer Replay

I just clicked "Wireless Setup Wizard." It's asking me to enter a number or something,
It says "EnterWPA/WPE"

Did it find the list of the Wi-Fi networks available?

Customer Replay

Yes. I clicked "Spectrum OD," which is my network.

Great
Now, you need to enter the password for your Wi-Fi network.
How is it going?

Customer Replay

Okay. I did it, It says "network connection successful."

Well done!

Customer Replay

Now. Do I click "Find My Printer?"

Yes, *****.
Please, do it

Customer Replay

I just printed a report that says "No problems found. Congratulations on the successful setup of your wireless printer." It's still not connected to my computer, though.

Are you connected to the same network on your computer and printer as well?

Customer Replay

I just got a message, "Unable to reset the WiFi set up mode."

Got you, *****.

Customer Replay

Same: SpectrumSetup-OD

Have you created an account in the HP Smart app at the beginning?

Customer Replay

I screwed up something this morning. I tried uninstalling the printer. Now where my printer name should be the number 696026 shows up as the name of the printer. The name should be HP Officejet4630.
Wait. I think I did it. Hold on a minute,

Sure, take your time, *****

Customer Replay

It's fixed! I just printed my document.

Great job!!
Does it work properly ?

Customer Replay

Let me open something else and try it again before you go.

Of course, *****.
