I have a Canon printer, P27-DH that comes on but will does not do anything, it wont calculate or print or feed the paper

What troubleshooting have you done so far?

Changed the batteries, but I don't know anything else to try.

Yes I have, but for some reason it doesn't want to respond by restarting or changing the batteries, plus we only use it a couple of times a year.

Did you put new batteries in it?

When I turn it on, a 0 shows up on the screen but no numbers come on when I push the number buttons. Yes I did try new batteries.
Also when I push the feed button, it doesn't feed the paper.

When you press this button, do you see anything on your screen?

Nothing changes on the screen.

Please, try to do this:

  1. Remove the printer cover by pressing down on the mark.
  2. Lift up the old ink roller and remove it
  3. Insert the new ink roller by pressing it gently into position to replace the printer cover. My roller has the term "Pull Up" on the left side of the roller.

Even when it worked before, nothing changed on the screen when I pushed the feed button.
I don't see a triangle mark.

Could you please take a photo of the back of your printer?
To attach pictures to our chat, you need to press the paper clip button in the lower right corner of the chat window. Then you have either to choose an image on your device or take a photo right away. Then confirm sending.

I'm not very tech savvy, the only options that show up on my phone are AirDrop, mail or messages.

Do you see a paper clip in our chat?

Yes and when I pressed on it, it brought my desk top.
The only options that I can see are the three that I put in the other message I sent you.

I did that and the numbers came on but when I move it to print mode, it goes back to 0 and numbers don't come back on.

There is a "Reset' button on the back of your device. Can you please press it with a needle?

I've already done that and the results are the same.
When I put it in the print mode and hold down on the C button for 30 seconds, the numbers do not come on.

Please, remove the printer cover to replace the ink rollers and remove the roller by pulling up on the “Pull Up” tab of the roller. Then, place it back.

When I put it in the print mode or push the feed button, an E shows up in the bottom left corner of the screen.

Yes, but I can't see how to the printer cover.

It is on the back of your device, above a sticker.

The only thing that is removable is where the batteries are.

Please, follow the instruction below:

  1. Please, remove the printer cover by pressing down on the (triangle) mark.
  2. Lift up the old ink roller and remove it
  3. Insert the new ink roller by pressing it gently into position (Use Canon Ink Roller CP-16)
  4. Replace the printer cover.

Can you please now try pressing the reset button for 10 seconds?

I did that and got the same results.

Then, please, follow the instruction below:

  1. Turn the power switch off.
  2. Remove the printer cover (the window above the screen).
  3. Hold the tab of the ink roller. Lift the ink roller out of the base.
  4. Insert the new ink roller into position. Push down on the center of the ink roller until
    it locks into place.
  5. Replace the printer cover.

My wife found an arrow sign that opened up to the printer ink roller but we do not have a new ink roller.

Did you open your printer and it's empty or do you mean you don't have a new one?
