I cannot use my Cannon TR4520 printer anymore

I usually print from Copy 2 of Cannon TR 4520 because Copy 1 is not connected. But all of a sudden the icon for Copy 2 is no longer there and the message says I need to repair the printer.
I have tried to print from Copy 1 to no avail.

Error 7700 is displayed by a 2 cartridge printer model after cartridge replacement or after an ink has ran out. It may also happen with brand new printers if using old ink cartridges in them.
The solution to this issue is to replace the cartridges on the printer with Canon branded cartridges, beginning with the cartridge the last replaced before the error started to occur.

I have had a difficult time finding Cannon Branded cartridges and have had to settle for alternatives.
