Nice to meet you, *****!
What troubleshooting steps have you tried already?
I don't know any steps to try. It suggested pushing the button on the router, but I can't find a corresponding button to push.
First, on your Surface can you go to Start, select Settings > Network & Internet, and see whether your wireless network name appears in the list of available networks.
It does.
Click on it
And then select Connect
And tell me about results
It asks for a network security key.
Do you know the password to your Wi-Fi?
I tried it, and it would not accept it. I tried about a dozen variations with no success.
What does it says?
The network security key isn't correct. Try again.
Then can you check your security key for Wi-Fi?
Where would I do that? I don't know what my network security key is.
Do you have Windows, correct?
Yes
Ok
In Network and Sharing Center, next to Connections, select your Wi-Fi network name. In Wi-Fi Status, select Wireless Properties. In Wireless Network Properties, select the Security tab, then select the Show characters check box. Your Wi-Fi network password is displayed in the Network security key box.
To open your Network and Sharing Center go to search bar
Icon in the left bottom of your screen
And let me know if any of the steps are not quite clear.
I'll be happy to clarify them for you!
Got it. I am connected. Thanks for your help.
I’m glad I was able to get that sorted out for you. Is there anything else I can assist you with today?
Not today. Thanks again.
I am so pleased to see your issue got resolved!
