Nice to meet you, *****!
The “Low Client FPS” error usually happens if there is a recording software running in the background, which overlays on top of the game. Users disproportionately affected by this error are found to be the ones with AMD graphics cards.

Yes, so Im actually not the one having the issue with the frame drop on valorant game. It's actually my girlfriend. I bought her a new laptop. It's an Acer nitro 5 9th Gen Intel core i5-9300H, Nvidia Geforce gtx 1650, 8GB.
We tried disabling full screen optimizations on the properties section which seemed to be like the most logical solution by the time but she still seems to be dropping frames on the game for some strange reaason

Got it, thanks for clarifying that.

I dont think she was any recording software running in the background tho, or at least none of which we may be aware of

What else troubleshooting have you done so far?

Customer Replay

we've tried to restart the computer restart the game. etc. Im not sure if theres any in game settings that we might have to try

Top answer

I see.
Even Discord’s in-game overlay feature can be the culprit, so we recommend going over every single third-party program. NVIDIA, recording, and streaming programs can all come with optional overlays that may just end up messing with VALORANT’s configurations.
Updates can also be the source of the issue, so make sure you close out of your game and update when required. Your FPS should return to normal after the launcher gives you the green light to launch the game.

Do you think we should close discord while playing in game?
theres an option in the nvidia app that says "In game overlay" but its turned on. should we also turn that off?

Yes,please.
Try to turn off the option in the nvidia app and discord also.
Let me know how everything is going.

Customer Replay

do you think its better to turn off the setting from discord or just close the app completely?
and if there's a setting on discord that we can turn that off, would u happen to know where to find it?
