Could you tell me if you are able to print though your printer is a sleep mode?

That is the prtoblem. It won't print. It will scan, but it stopped printing when it had a driver update. It installs to the point where it asks for the USB canle to be connected and won't acknowledge that it is plugged in to complete

Tried reinstalling, tried different USB sockets, checked that it is scanning, and deleted it in printer preferences and put it back. It is saying that it is there but the lcd scree on the printer says fax only deep sleep and there is no reference to sleep in the 2700DW serries manuals.

Could I ask you if you tried to reinstall drivers, *****?

Yes, and that is where it hangs. Could I uninstall it completely and start again? When I did the inital upgrade to the system it seemed to install itself and worked fine but after attempting the driver update it stopped

Let us try to power cycle your printer first. Please follow these steps to power cycle your printer:
1. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
2. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet. Wait at least 1 minute.
3. Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
4. Reconnect the power cord to the printer. Turn the printer on.

And now it starts printing again. I did exactly the same thing a few times.

Its printing excell and emails. Yet to check pdf's. That is where it fell over to start with and in preferences it said this printer was there but not available.
