Can't get Internet on I-Phone

Would like to use Genius Bar in local Apple Store but can't get to appt site cause I don't know password or email address because my deceased husband handled all technology issues

I think it's an I-Hone 6 (1st large model). Some features work but it says no Internet Connection and that holds true for sites away from my home, I am receiving emails, but I an not able to respond or search. Have tried selecting internet repeatedly thru settings. I live in large apt bldg and have never had any previous connection.
That is never had any connection ion problems

After some new iOS updates, the network connection for some apps and system services on the iPhone is turned off by default. You need to turn on WLAN & Cellular data for these apps. Go to iPhone Settings -> Apps Using WLAN & Cellular
*****, please, try to check the apps from Settings
You would need to turn Cellular data for them

I clicked on Cellular and 1st button is Cellular Data and it is off. I turned it on and button is green. Don't know what else to do
