I’ve tried to enter on Wi Fi list for the HP office jet 5230 printer but it needs a pass word which I’ve forgotten

I’ve just fitted new ink cartridges in my HP printer and now it won’t print , I’m off line

Short summary:

Connecting HP Printer to Home Network:

  1. Check if your printer has a Wi-Fi Direct button or a similar button on its control panel.
  2. Press and hold the Wi-Fi Direct button on the printer until the Wi-Fi Direct status light starts blinking.
  3. On your iPad, go to the Settings app and select Wi-Fi.
  4. Look for the Wi-Fi network named "CT-10-HP OfficeJet 5200" or a similar name on the list of available networks.
  5. Tap on the network to connect to it. If prompted, enter the password "12345678" or the password specified by the printer.
  6. Once connected, go back to the home screen on your iPad.

Printing from iPad:

  1. Open the document or file you want to print on your iPad.
  2. Look for the "Share" or "Action" button, usually represented by a box with an arrow pointing upwards or a share icon.
3. Tap on the "Share" or "Action" button to see the available sharing options.
  4. Scroll through the options and look for the "Print" option. Note that it may be located under the "More" option.
  5. Tap on "Print" to proceed with printing.
  6. If the printer is successfully connected, it should appear as an available printer in the printer list.
  7. Select your HP printer from the list of available printers.
  8. Adjust any print settings if necessary, such as the number of copies or page range.
  9. Tap on the "Print" button to start printing the document.

Ive tried to down load the wi fi on the list but it needs a password which I’ve forgotten
I tried the HP smart app nut failed

Thank you for the details!
As far as I understand, your printer asks you to enter your Wi-Fi password and you don't remember it. Is it correct?

Customer Replay

yes for the HP wifi

Got it!
Does it ask for a password on the printer's display?

Customer Replay

when I click on the HP link it directs me to password request
not on the printer

Is there any chance you can take a screenshot of the page where it asks you for a password and attach it here in chat so I can take a look?
