Hello, thank you for using Howly. I’ll be happy to help you out! May I ask your name?
*****
Nice to meet you, *****!
Can you specify where you need to change a cartridge?
I need to replace the black cartidge but I can't get the lid open to access the cartidges. Sometimes this isn't a problem, sometimes it is.
Please, specify the model of your printer.
HP OfficeJet Pro 8025e
Thank you.
Do you see a lock/button on the bottom of cartridges?
I can't open the lid/screen to get at the cartidges
Have you opened the front panel?
Yes
Is your printer turned on?
yes
Ok, good. The lid should be pulled up. It should come up smoothly, and hold itself in the opened position.
At that point I can't open the scanner lid. The left corner appears to be stuck. The right corner appears to be loose (OK)
Sometimes it works exactly the way you describe
I see.
Are you opening the scanner lid first, and then the Cartridge access door after that?
No. I'll try that.
Sure, take your time.
That didn't work but I'm turning it off and then back on to try again.
Try to reboot your printer and open it with the scanner lid closed tightly.
When I do this either way I get a notice "the door open" and it tells me to close the door.
I'll reboot and open the way you said. The last time I tried to turn it off it wouldn't, so I unplugged and replugged it. Then I pushed the "on" button.
Does it worked out?
Rebooted with the button. Got notice it was checking the printer. Then the status window showed everyting was OK except the black cartidge was very low. Then I opened the cover and then the front panel and the glass screen still wouldn't open to expose the cartridges. In the recent past It has generally been easy to open the glass lid and get the cartridges but sometimes is stuck the way it is doing now. Again, it appears that the left front corner is stuck and the right front corner is not stuck.
Ok, here's the sequence:
Open front panel > Pull up the whole upper part with scanner closed > Access to cartridges.
Trying it.
Ok, waiting
OMG! That worked! Thanks for your help.Sorry to take your time.
That's alright, no problem!
Glad that I could help!
Is there anything else I can do for you today?
Goodby
I am so pleased to see your issue got resolved!
