I have been working with the printer diring the lñast ew days, printing some of my fine art b&w pics. Lastr Thursday I ran out of some of the Pixma color ink. I was going to keep printing today, but when turning on the printer in order to change the ink cartridges. It did not turn on. I ckecked the electricity outlet and everything that, could have been wrong. i even tried the outlet with a light and was ok

Good.
Firstly, please try to follow these steps:

Disconnect the power cord from the device and the electrical source.
After disconnecting the power cord, wait at least five minutes.
Inspect the power cord for damage (exposed wiring, cracked, etc.). If the cord is not damaged, plug it back in after at least five minutes.
If you are still unable to obtain thepower to the device, try another power outlet.
If possible, try connecting power directly to a wall outlet (as opposed to using a surge protector or power strip...just as a troubleshooting measure).
