My network is not finding my WD Drive despite resetting 3 times and rebooting.

Short summary:

  1. Open Device Manager by clicking Start and typing "devmgmt.msc" in the search box, then hit Enter.
  2. In Device Manager, expand Universal Serial Bus controllers.
  3. Right-click on the USB Root Hub and select Properties.
  4. Go to Power Management and uncheck Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.
  5. Reboot the PC and reconnect the WD external hard drive to your PC.
  6. Check if the WD drive is detected. If not, proceed to the next step.
  7. Boot the computer in Safe Mode to check if the WD drive will show up.
  8. Go to Setting > Update & security > Recovery > Advanced Startup > Restart now.
  9. The PC will automatically boot into another Startup Settings screen.
  10. Press F4 to initiate PC reboot into Safe Mode.
  11. Check whether the WD external hard disk shows up.

What else in troubleshooting have you done so far?

Had no internet this morning but managed to fix that. We have a WD Cloud drive that I'm having trouble connecting to.

Could you please tell me, if your WD drive is shown on the computer?

No

Could you please try to change the USB port/Cable to detect WD external hard drive?

Sorry, I do not understand this. The WD drive is wireless

Great, thank you!
After this, reboot the PC and reconnect WD external hard drive to your PC, then you'll be able to use the drive again

Customer Replay

Sadly, still not appearing.

Understood, thank you for clarifying!
May you also, please, specify: did any step make an issue for you, or once you had done every step and restarted the PC, nothing happened?

Customer Replay

I followed your steps and rebooted. No issues as far as I am concerned
