My kindle app takes me to the cover of my book and no further

I can access the app but it only shows the cover of the book and there is no movement on the screen. All other apps seem to be working

Got it, let's try to do it.
- Open the App Store app.
- Tap the sign-in button or your photo at the top of the screen.
- Tap Purchased.

Delete the app, and install again.
How do I do this
Touch and hold the app on the Home Screen, tap Remove App, then tap Delete App to delete it from iPad.
Miraculously it is working again.I have no idea what I did but all is well. Thank you for your help. As you will have gathered my IT skills are limited.
