My IT guy fixed the scanner issue remotely and I can't power on the Brother MFC - L8900CDW.

I had scanner issues and turned off my Brother. I disconnected and reconnected the cables (power and cables to my computer).

Short summary:

  1. Check if the Brother MFC - L8900CDW has any indication of power when you turn it on. If there is no indication of power, proceed to the next step.
  2. Try using another power cable to power on the printer. If the printer still does not power on, proceed to the next step.
  3. Press and hold the power button for around 10 seconds to see if the printer tries to turn on.
  4. If there is still no power, unplug the power cord for at least 30 seconds.
  5. Press and hold the ON/OFF button down and then insert the power cord back into the Brother machine.
  6. Do not release the ON/OFF button for up to 30 seconds.
  7. If the printer turns on, check if everything is working properly by testing the printing, copying, and scanning functions.

Hello, thank you for using Howly.
When you turn on the Brother does it have any indication on it?

Customer Replay

No. It does not power on.

Understood, do you have another power cable to try?
This model uses standart power cable

Customer Replay

Hmmm. I may be able to find one. Can I have a minute?

Sure, take your time
It is possible that the cable was faulty, will be good if we try with another cable

Customer Replay

I tried another cable. Nothing.

The printer might try to turn on, let me know if you notice anything

Customer Replay

Nothing.

Tell me please does the power cable connected directly to an outlet?

Customer Replay

Yes.

Great!
Check if everything works fine

Customer Replay

It's printing and copying. I'll take a breather on the scanning. Thanks.
