My computer (MacBookPro using Microsoft Office and Word) stopped saving named documents (permission error no 8058)

Became unreliable about emails,sending and receiving.,Outlook and gmail. Last night I bought Microsoft 365 and tried to download it several times. I have a list in my downloads of the several attempts,most have started to download and the 2nd one is half downloaded. The email is fixed except I still am not receiving them via Outlook. I still can't print. Can you help please?

Sorry, I haven't tried printing yet! I mean using Save As to name and save them.

The circle is only half or a little bit completed. The half measured 1.02MBs.

So you haven't installed Microsoft 365 yet, right?

I don't think so. The remaining email problem said I needed a browser. I can never remember what that is!

So you use Outlook which was installed on your computer before you purchased Microsoft 365, right?

Yes. I think I bought it at Licence time last year when I took my problems to a shop. I am trying to do it at home this time, it seemed Microsoft 365 was needed.

Okay, to sum up, you have an issue with Outlook I have not tried printing so just a problem with saving files. I haven't discovered any more problems. No emails on Outlook since 30 September.

Have you tried to sign into the web Outlook version to check if you see your emails there?

Because I haven't gone to Outlook web before the inbox was empty but I sent myself a test ok.

Do you mean that you sent a test email to your account, and received it in the Outlook web version?

I thought so but I've just checked and it is in the sent box only.

Have you tried to re-sign into your email account in the Outlook app?

I've just looked at gmail.com which I am used to turning to and my emails are there. Also just checked Outlook app but still nothing since 30 Sept.

Please open the Outlook app, click on the Outlook name at the top-left corner and sign out of your account. Then please try to sign back in

The Outlook icon just jumps and won't open. A message has come up about forcing quit and to send a report or ignore. I was thinking about this message before, it came up in the shop last year and the man over rode it. Ever since it has come up occasionally and I just click ignore and get on. I don't want to go there any more because he doesn't explain.

That message appears when the application stops responding and gets stuck. How often do you fully restart your computer?

Not very often
Does the computer have to be switched off to complete the download?

The downloading will not be complete but restart may resolve the issue with the apps not responding
Could you please click on the Apple logo, turn your computer off for a few minutes and turn it back again?

Bad habits, I turned my iPad off too. One drive was loading as I switched on the Mac.

I was upgrading Outlook. That seems ok. I can save my work. The partial downloads are still the same, stuck but it doesn't seem to matter. Thank you for working with me
