Nice to meet you, *****!
So your printer works for a short period of time and then shuts down immediately?
it powers-up and then shuts down so no time to try anything
Thank you
it sometimes says on/off to continue but then won't restart.
Got it
Which computer do you have?
dell xps 13
Thank you
Remove power cord and wait 30 seconds. Then remove paper trays. Reconnect power cord and switch on at the wall. Wait for printer to boot just to add it won't work even if not connected to laptop although in the past I could use it with the USB or wifi although if it was then turned off at the power the wifi connection had to be reset. just FYI in case relevant
Thank you
do you mean remove power from wall or back of printer?
The main thing is to disconnect it from the electricity
OK doing that
I`ll be here
OK all lit-up now what's next
Wait for printer to boot (and complain about lack of trays). Reinstall paper trays.

Yes, of course
Open Windows Settings by clicking the Windows Start icon, typically located at the bottom left corner of your desktop. Then click the Settings (gear) icon.
On the Settings menu, click Devices.
Click Printers & scanners.
From the list of installed printers, click the name of the printer you want to set up. This expands the listing to give more choices. Click Manage.
This opens the Windows Manage your device screen.

doing that now
that all worked again! amI going to have to do this everytime ?
You may have a problem with your printer
I think that if you do not disconnect the printer from the power supply this error will not occur again.
So leave it plugged in and the printer switched on too?
If I'm not mistaken, the printer can be in sleep mode when you're not using it
that's fine - I'll see how it goes - at least it is useable , Thanks for your help
