I think my other computer has been compromised. There is an ongoing obnoxious message saying that my computer has been locked up and to call windows defender security. I called the number and the guy wanted me to push the windows button on my computer. I told him no. There was a lot of phone activity in the background. How can I get my computer back working?

Actually yes, if you see such messages stating from Microsoft with the phone number to call, you can be sure that it is a scam. Could you please tell me did you give them access to your computer?

No, I did not to my knowledge. He wanted me to push the windows 4 square key on my computer. I did not do it.

No, I did finally cut it off for a minute.

If you see the message about your computer has been locked up with the phone number, just close the website, or browser, then restart your computer and try to avoid that webpage

In this case, just force your computer to restart. Press and hold the power button till your computer will shut down, then turn it back on
