How do I extract the cartridge that came with the computer--I don't see a lever or release button and the old cartridge fills the entire space so
I can't lift it or hold on to it

2. Open the front cover.
3. Remove the drum unit and toner cartridge assembly from the machine.
4. Push down the green lock lever and take the toner cartridge out of the drum unit.
5. Unpack the new toner cartridge.
6. Remove the protective cover.
