I have two Facebook Messenger accounts. Now, all of a sudden I can't access Messenger at all

It keeps flickering, saying, that the passwords have been changed by either Messenger or myself. I certainly have not changed any of the passwords. Besides, I can't even access it to change the password anyhow! How how can I prevent this from happening again? For, at the moment, it's a useless App. If I was to reinstall Messenger, do I need to open up new accounts, and, if I do, would I loose all my current conversations and name listings etc. ?

Hello, thank you for using our service, my name is Christine I’ll be happy to help you out! May I ask your name?

*****

Nice to meet you, *****!

Can you get my two accounts cleaned and up and running as quickly as possible please?

Facebook Messenger is always associated with the Facebook account itself. Can you enter the Facebook page that is associated with the messenger you need?

By the way, I have not received that email as yet!

Because if you can't enter the Facebook page, you were probably hacked.
So, can you enter it?

Customer Replay

I'm able to log-in to my two Facebook accounts. But I think it's because I saved the Facebook passwords to my phone.

So you are able to log in to both?
Then yes, I suggest redownloading the messenger app. No, you will not lose all your contacts and conversations, since they are attached to facebook data, not to the storage on your phone.

I've entered both Facebook accounts, but when I click on the Messenger icon, that is when it starts flickering and giving me the distorted messages from Messenger stating that the passwords are no longer active or have been changed. I can't access Messenger at all

As I said, try to redownload the app. If it will still occurs, we will try to get rid of the error.

Do you want mee to reinstall the Messenger App now? Okay, please stand by.

Sure! Take your time.

Customer Replay

Christine, it seems to have worked okay. I also linked one of the Messenger accounts to my Instagram account. Is that okay? And, how can repeat of this action be prevented again in the future please, as my two accounts have occasionally been hacked or comprised?

*****, may I ask you, is everything fine now?

Christine, as just said above: it seems to have worked okay. I also linked one of the Messenger accounts to my Instagram account. Is that okay? And, how can repeat of this action be prevented again in the future please, as my two accounts have occasionally been hacked or comprised?

Sure, let's do everything step-by-step, *****!

Customer Replay

Sure!

It's OK to have Instagram and Facebook linked, no worries about that!
However, you have to keep in mind - never-ever open any links in Messanger or Instagram as these links, that you received in the messages might be with 'track code' and they can track your password

Customer Replay

Okay, I understand. What about legitimate -looking links which I may receive on Messenger and/or WhatsApp for instance?

Unfortunately, *****, You can't check if it's legitimate or not ;(
So, you just need to remember - never open it, even in the case it was opened - never accept anything on that page

Customer Replay

Oh, okay! Is my Security setting normally strong for both Apps? As I believe the Messenger isn't encrypted, but that WhatsApp messages are? Is that correct?

Sure, you are right, WhatsApp and Telegram are, probably, the most secured messengers

Customer Replay

Because I've had similar Messenger compromising before, I presume via hacking, can it be prevented, and why does it happen often with Messenger?
Is it better to have just one Messenger account, and if so, is it possible for my two accounts be merged into one?

To hack someone - means that you shared your e-mail or phone number somewhere, and they hacked it
Unfortunately, it's impossible to merge accounts

Customer Replay

Last question Christine, is it better to have just one Facebook account, and if so, is it possible for my two Facebook accounts be merged into one?

Unfortunately, it's impossible to merge accounts
You may use both accounts
