I have an issue with an old Mac os 9.2.2 computer, it's not starting up

My computer froze and when I restarted it, it went through the normal "your computer did not shut down correctly..first aid..etc." but when it finishes, and I press done... only one icon shows on a blue screen and nothing else happens. I held down space bar and I get a blue screen with a clock on the right but no start up

Are you able to open Recovery Mode?

Customer Replay

no as I said, it wont start up in safe or extensions off it goes, so far and then stops....

Have you tried booting Mac OS 9 with Extensions Disabled? Hold down Shift after the Mac startup chime and see if you get to the desktop. Try running Disk First Aid

Disc first aid runs when I do a std restart, however holding down the shift key by passes that and goes to a screen with a clock at the top on the right and a cursor but never goes beyod that....
Hold On. i did a reestart about 10 mins ago and it looks like it is starting up..... Hold on
Not sure why this hung up, perhaps I needed to wait longer as I am use to using an os10 machine. but still never has taken this long to start up and the icons always loaded quickly without delay, any reason you can think of that it would hang like thsat?

What do you see now? Is it starting?

Customer Replay

yes everything is back to normal...It took over 15mins with one icon showing before the rest loaded and my screen came up... Doing a backup now
Thanks for trying.

Great! I think it was some kind of glitch. But also could be hardware or software (a lot of apps are loaded at the startup).
Is there anything else I can do for you today?
