I have an HP Envy Photo 7100 Series PCL-3 printer that all of a sudden will not print or copy

When I did print something, the roller made a lot of noise inside the printer

Hello, thank you for using Howly. I’ll be happy to help you out! May I ask your name?

No it just has the question mark on the front along with the little blue on the right side.

Where do you see this icons, *****?

Customer Replay

On the front of the printer in the box that has the choices of what I want to do, i.e., copy, scan, photo, apps

Okay, thank you. Do you see any errors on your PC or any other device connected to your printer.

Customer Replay

No. The only thing connected to my printer is my hard drive.

How do you print on it?

Customer Replay

I print from the icon on the page or document I want to print.

But you see this icon on the device, correct? What device is it?

Can't you just sign on to my printer to see if you can figure out what's wrong. I have joined the HP ink and a few months ago, someone signed on to my printer during the night and changed the name of my printer. It has since changed back. Come on Stew, sometimes I choose to print from the page and it has a "print" notice so I choose that and sometimes I choose the "print" icon at the top of the document page

I am sorry, *****. We are not able to connect directly to printer, but I will provide you with the instructions and help with every step.

If you can't tell me how to fix it, I will just get rid of it and go buy and Epson printer. That will mean I will have to cancel my ink subscription with you folks.

  1. Disconnect the power cable from the printer while the printer is still ON.
  2. Disconnect any other cables if connected the printer.
  3. Press and hold the printer’s power button for 15 seconds.
  4. The printer should be directly connected to the wall outlet and not to a surge protector.
  5. Reconnect the power cable to print and the printer should power ON by itself. If the printer doesn’t power ON then please manually power it ON.

We have done that.
