I have an et -2826 epson printer and I am having problems with printing

Some paper got jammed in the printer last week. I cleared the paper and set back up the printer from the start. The printer is neither copying or printing documents.

Short summary:

  1. Check for any error messages displayed on the printer. If there are no error messages, proceed to the next step.
  2. Ensure that the ink levels in the printer are sufficient. If the ink levels are low, refill the ink tanks.
  3. Verify that the print head is properly aligned. If not, follow these steps:
    a. Access the printer's control panel.
    b. Select "Maintenance" from the menu options.
    c. Use the directional arrows to navigate and select "Print Head Alignment."
    d. Follow the on-screen instructions to align the print head.
  4. Check if the nozzles of the printer are clogged. Perform a nozzle check by following these steps:
    a. Access the printer's control panel.
    b. Select "Maintenance" from the menu options.
    c. Use the directional arrows to navigate and select "Nozzle Check."
    d. Follow the on-screen instructions to load paper and print the nozzle check pattern.
    e. Examine the printed pattern and check if any lines are missing or not printed.
  5. If most lines are missing or not printed during the nozzle check, it indicates that most nozzles are clogged. Select "No" to exit the nozzle check feature.
  6. Perform a power cleaning to address nozzle clogging by following these steps:
    a. Access the printer's control panel.
    b. Select "Maintenance" from the menu options.
    c. Use the directional arrows to navigate and select "Power Cleaning" or "Cleaning."
    d. Follow the on-screen instructions to initiate the power cleaning process.
    e. Wait for the cleaning process to complete (usually takes a few minutes).
  7. After the power cleaning is done, try printing something else to test if the issue has been resolved.

Hello, thank you for using Howly.
Do you see any error messages?

Customer Replay

No error message.

So, when you command Epson printer to print, it just does not start the process, right?

If I set up the document on preview it shows on the computer monitor but when I try to print I am just getting some black marks across the paper.

Have you checked the ink level?

Customer Replay

It's topped up with ink. I have checked the print head etc.

Did you check if the nozzles are clogged?

Not clogged.

Okay, just in case, let's test it out. I will guide you on this. How does that sound?

Please, try the following:

  1. Select Maintenance on the printer's control panel.
  2. Use the directional arrows to select an item, then press OK.
  3. Select Nozzle Check.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to load the paper and print the nozzle check pattern.

Let me know when you have done this.

Customer Replay

I have done that. Printed blank page

If most lines are missing or not printed, this indicates most nozzles are clogged. Select No to exit the nozzle check feature. Would you like to try Power cleaning? It helps in those kinds of situations.

Customer Replay

It's just cleaning. Will let you know when done. Saying it takes 3 mins.

It should be called Power Cleaning on your display. Is it not?

Customer Replay

Bingo! It's printed something.
