I have 8010e series printer and I'm trying to replace the ink cartridges but I can't get the inl section to move to the open area

Short summary:

  1. Open the front door of the printer.
  2. Lift the ink cartridge access door.
  3. If the cartridges are not moving, try rebooting the printer by pressing the power button or unplugging the power cord.
  4. After rebooting, check if the cartridges are still stuck on the right side.
  5. If the cartridges are still not moving, check for any paper jams and ensure that there is no obstruction blocking the movement of the cartridges.
  6. If there is no paper jam or obstruction, try performing a power cycle on the printer.
    a. Turn on the printer.
    b. Disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer.
    c. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet. d. Wait for at least 15 seconds.
    e. Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
    f. Reconnect the power cord to the back of the printer.
  7. Turn on the printer and check if the cartridges start moving to the center of the printer.
  8. If the cartridges are now in the middle of the cavity, you can proceed to remove the old cartridges and replace them with new ones.

To replace any low or empty ink cartridges:

  • Open the front door, and then lift the ink cartridge access door.

I have done that, I just can't get the ink cartidges to move to the open space. I nknow there is a method to do that!

Have you tried rebooting your printer and then trying to replace the ink cartridges again?

This can't be a complicated move but if it's the printer's problem ,I'll try to return it.
I rebooted it. the ink compartment is still all the was to the right. What do I push to free it?

Please tell me, the cartridges do not move at all?

is there a release button? The whole container for all 4 cartridges wiggles a little but I can't get it free to move so I can remove and replace the ink containers
They are locked way over on the right

This problem could be due to the paper jam, could you please check?

Got it. Please tell me, during the reboot, did you just press the power button, or did you unplug the cable?

just the power, I'll unpluig

the rest of the printer is working fine

OK done everything is back on. Now i"ve opened the compartment How do I get the ink compartment to move?
There/s an error code in the window

Yes the cartridges are now in the middle of the cavity

Great! Very glad to hear that!
Perhaps it was a printer software error, and after rebooting it needed extra time to set up.

It very old but still function pretty well, I think maybe the second reboot fixed the problem, but what ever it's working. I can remove the old cartridges. I think so too, thanks again and good bye
