I am trying to add printer to my computer using hp smart, whem i go to add a printer the app is not finding my printer

yes it has a blue light and is connebted to the internet
Have you already connected your printer to your WI-FI network?
yes i believe so
Do you see a "Setup" option on your printer display?
no it has some push buttons and a digital page counter
Could you tell me if you see a Wireless button on your printer?
yes it has a blue light on
Place the printer near the Wi-Fi router.
Please, Press and hold the Wireless button for five seconds or until the wireless light starts to flash.
Within two minutes, press and hold the WPS button on the router until the connection process begins.
Wait for the Wireless light or bar on the printer to stop flashing.
the printer is in the back office and the router is in the front room oh boy
If you can move it, it would be great!
