New netgear router but no internet

modem is working

What troubleshooting have you done so far?

connected service provider to verify modem was working. turned device off and then back on. checked to verify cables were secure.

Can you, please, tell me which LED is blinking?
There are Power LED, Internet LED, WiFi LED, Ethernet LEDs, WPS LED.

i forgot to mention, I 2get internet on my laptop by connecting lan line to modem. I'm not familiar with the symbol but I beleive it's internet

If the problem didn't go away after restarting the router, there might be an issue with your cabled. Can you, please, check them for any damage, *****?
Also, please, check if the cables are correctly put in again. There should be a cable which should be put in until you hear a click.

Noted. We can try to reset the router.

  • To perform a reset on your router, you should look for a reset button at the back or bottom of the device.
  • Press this button using a paper clip for about 30 seconds.
  • Once this period is over, disconnect power from the router for another 10 seconds then reconnect.
  • Once you reset the router, you should reconfigure it since all the custom settings will no longer be there.

now the power light is orange and internet light is out
it's acting strange.
