Hello, thank you for using Howly. I’ll be happy to help you out! May I ask your name?
*****
Nice to meet you, *****!
Have you done any troubleshooting so far?
Yes tried everything according to the owners manual and used common sense
Can you please specify both the brand and the model of your refrigerator?
Samsung RH56J6917SL
Serial No. *****
After taking out the ice container we can see there is a panel that can be taken out?
I wouldn't go this far as of yet
but it only goes so far and then it looks like a few more screws need to be taken out ok won't do that!
And yes, I'm on your issue, give me moment, please:)
ok fine
Cheers:)
And for how long do you have the fridge?
approx 3 years
Got you
And does the fridge stop knocking when you open the door?
Alright, one thing that could be a reason is a buildup of ice and the ventilator on the back is jammed because of this
Which ventilator?
on the ice bucket or the fridge itself?
I suggest checking both is possible
checked the ice bucket and that is all clear now taking the screws out of the ventilator plate at the back of the fridge to check
Take your time
done that there is nothing blocking anything but it's quite dusty inside
This makes it more difficult then
Do you still have a warranty active?
no I don't think so? We are now taking the inside back off the freezer compartment as the Smail ducts are frozen
Lots of ice!
does that inside back cover come off?
Great! Disconnect the fridge from power, grab a hairdryer and melt it off
I don't recommend taking it off, *****, you can get electrocuted, even if its disconnected
ok going to do that!
Take your time
we have unplugged the freezer/fridge and are using the hairdryer. How do you think this problem could have caused the display control to go blank, isn't this electrical or a PCR issue??
Can't really tell as it could be both
However, I think the frozen ducts can be linked to the display issue
Any updates on the melting of the ice?
ok will let you know. Going out to work in 30 mins so will let the fridge/freezer totally defrost and see what happens
