My phone shut itself off

and when I tried to turn it back on it stayed on the loading screen for 5 minutes before shutting off again. I don't know what to do about it

Hello, thank you for using Howly. I’ll be happy to help you out! May I ask your name?

Got it, thank you!
Could you please tell me when did the problem first occur?

Customer Replay

It started happening about half an hour ago

Got it. Could you please tell me if your phone is fully charged?

Customer Replay

When it was on, it had about 40% left

Got it. Did you notice any suspicious behavior before the phone started turning itself off?

Customer Replay

No, it just happened out of nowhere

Noted, thank you!

Customer Replay

Right now the phone is turning itself on, going to the loading page, then turning back off again without me even pressing any buttons

Noted, thank you. Try putting it on charge for now

Customer Replay

Alright

  • Press and hold the Power / Side button until the 'Power off' prompt appears then release.
  • Tap. Restart.
  • To confirm, tap. Restart. If your device won't power back on, partially charge the device then retry.
Customer Replay

I tried that, the power off button doesn't appear anymore
A new screen just popped up

Could you please tell me what did you see?

Customer Replay

It says Andriod Recovery. Your phone couldn't start normally. Some configuration data may be corrupt

  • Simultaneously press and hold the Power / Side button and Volume Down button until the screen is dark, then release both buttons.
  • Allow several seconds for the reboot process to complete.
  • If your device won't power back on, partially charge the device then retry.
Customer Replay

I just did and now it says that I can Reboot system now, Reboot to bootloader, Apply update from ADB, Apply update from SD card, Wipe data/factory reset, Wipe cache partition, Mount/system, view recoevry logs, run graphics test, run locale test, power off, and repair apps

Select "Reboot system" for now

Customer Replay

I did and now it's back on the loading screen again

  • First, complete power off the phone
  • Turn on the device and press and hold the Volume down key when the Samsung logo appears.
  • If done correctly, "Safe mode" will display on the bottom left corner of the screen. If "Safe mode" does not appear, repeat the previous steps.
  • Once you're in Safe mode, you can remove the third-party app that is causing issues.
  • Start by removing apps that were updated or installed when the problem started.
  • To exit Safe mode, simply restart your phone or tablet, and it will reboot normally.
Customer Replay

It's not going to safe mode it just keeps going back to the loading screen then powering off
It just turned back to that first recovery page

Noted, thank you

Customer Replay

mhm

It seems that some data on your phone is corrupted. You can try selecting the "Repair Apps" option on the screen to repair the apps at first. However, most likely, the whole phone will need to be wiped

Customer Replay

Okay

Let me know once you try it

Customer Replay

I hit the repair apps and it says "phone is starting"

Got it! Let me know once it loads

Customer Replay

Now it's just doing the same thing it's been doing with the loading screen and turning off then on again

Noted. To my regret, the only option now would be to Wipe data/factory reset
