My ipad 12.5 is frozen and it won’t shut down or swipe to start

just tried to shut it down and tapped the screen in various locations but it’s still frozen .

Ok, let's restart your iPad.
To do so, please press and hold the top button and the Home button at the same time.
When the Apple logo appears, release both buttons.
