I'm doing the setup

And I've input things to the point where it asks for my email address, but there is no way to input letters. All I have is a simple remote

This is my first experience with Roku. Things seem to be working fine, but it is asking me to put my email address in a box on the screen, and I can't see how to do that. Earlier screens gave a matrix of numbers and letters, but this one just has an empty box, and the remote that came with Roku has no letters.
This is in order to get an activation link.
