I receive destination advices on my mobile phone all the time presumably from either of the Uber taxis I used

Used an Uber taxi twice. This is extremely annoying, can you please help me.

Short summary:

  1. Open the Uber app and tap "Account" in the bottom right-hand corner.
  2. Select "Settings".
  3. Scroll to "Privacy" and choose "Notifications".
  4. Manage specific notifications by selecting them and tapping "Update settings" to save preferences.
  5. If you are receiving notifications on your phone from Uber Driver, go to your device's Settings.
  6. Tap on "Apps" and find the "Uber Driver" app.
  7. If you are getting from Uber SMS messages follow the instructions to stop SMS messages by replying "STOP" to any message received.

I'm having trouble doing what you told me to stop the Uber notifications I'm still having on my phone.

Can you please tell me what device are you using with Uber?

Customer Replay

I don't use Uber at all. When I had my car serviced, called Uber so I could retun home to wait for the car to be serviced. Then Uber again to return and collect my car.

Okay, I see how it is
But do you still have an Uber App on your device?

I am now getting details of one of the Uber driver's calls and destinations on my phone. How do I stop these details?
I do have a Uber Driver App
I am NOT an Uber driver. I have never used Uber myself.

Got it, thank you for clarifying!
Firstly, let`s try to do it from your phone`s Settings. Are you using an iPhone or Android?

Android

Okay, great!
Kindly try these steps below to turn the notifications off:

  1. Go to your device’s settings. This can usually be done by swiping down from the top of the screen and selecting the gear icon.
  2. Scroll down and tap on the “Apps” option.
  3. Scroll down and tap on the “Uber Driver” app.

I am not an experienced user of my phone. I can't scroll down to settings. If I go directly to my Uber Driver App and tap on it but then I will lose you. I'm sorry I'm not much help.

Thanks

Can you please tell me if notifications you are getting from Uber come as push-notifications on your phone or SMS-messages?

Customer Replay

SMS messages.

Top answer

Uber advises to take the following actions to stop messages from coming:

  1. Select any of SMS that came from Uber.
  2. Reply 'STOP' to the message.

This should unsubscribe you from any future SMS messages coming.
