Nice to meet you, *****!
Currently you cannot restrict anyone from doing anything.

how can I keep someone from posting personal text messages to family friends and public. I am being threatened that if I don’t sent him a $100 Amazon card he is going to post the messages which will be embarrassing.. can you stop it or delete from his account??

On which platform is this happening?

can you keep him from posting them

Customer Replay

All you can do right now is report his posts.
Tap in the top right of Facebook, then tap your name. Go to the post and tap in the top right. Tap Find support or report post and then tap the option that best describes how this post goes against our Community Standards. You can also block the person who posted this content on your timeline.

I don’t have them on my phone.. I deleted them but he did not delete them from his phone and he says he will post them if I don’t send money. I have found out he is a scammer.
can you please help me

We are Howly - an online expert question-and-answer website that connects users with verified technical experts that can assist with any tech-related issue. We're not affiliated with Facebook, we provide assistance regarding matters on the platform, but we don't have access to their databases, and therefore, can't change anything from our side. However, we're going to do everything we can to help.
You can report the account :
Go to the profile you want to report by tapping its name in your Feed or searching for it.
Tap in the top right.
Tap Find support or report.
Follow the on-screen instructions.
I would also recommend you to ignore those messages and to not send him any moeny
as he will continue to post those and ask for more messages.

that’s what I’m thinking too. Do you know what I can do if he sends the messages to family and friends.. I mean can I get the messages deleted before he could send them?

Customer Replay

If he has pictures of them then no.
You cannot delete them off his phone.
Just tell your family and friends what is the situation and tell them not to believe him/her/

what can I do to keep him from making them public

Customer Replay

Currently you cannot stop him, just report him, you can also ask as many people as possible to report his profile.

who do I report him to!?

Customer Replay

Go to the profile you want to report by tapping its name in your Feed or searching for it.
Tap in the top right.
Tap Find support or report.

Ok I will try. I’m not very knowledgeable about this. I’m old and have got myself in trouble by trying to be nice.

Customer Replay

No problem at all, if you need any additional questions let me know!

you can’t do that for me can you? I’m so upset I’m shaking and I live alone.. this is making me sick.

Customer Replay

Currently we do not provide that service, I'm sorry, but if you report him/her enough times Facebook will block his account.
Everything will be fine *****!

So you can’t help me anymore.. is that what you are saying? I don’t think it will be fine as he is mad and will do anything to get the money

Customer Replay

Well there's not a lot he can do.
If you ignore him long enough he will give up.
Trust me, people who do this kind of stuff give up and move to a different suspect.

oh I sure hope so. If I ever get out of this mess I will never answer another question a stranger sends to me. He said if I don’t get the money by morning he is going to spread our texts publicly. Some things are just not for the public to see or know
ok if that is all you can tell me., I will try reporting it somewhat else.

Customer Replay

Just a second please!
I understand that you might have given him some confidential information
But even if he posts it "publicly"
How many people are going to see that?
You won't wake up and the whole world will talk about you.
Do not worry.

he says he is going to send it to my children and pastor ( I don’t know how he knows their names ) but he said he had all their profiles

Customer Replay

You probably have them on your friends list on Facebook.
That's how he knows.
Please tell me, if he sends that to those people, what will happen?

my kids will be very mad at me for talking to someone I didn’t know ( and I don’t blame them) and it would just be embarrassing for my pastor

Customer Replay

And will your life stop after that?

no but it will sure change things with my family relationship

Customer Replay

*****, we're all human and make mistakes.
It's okay.
They will understand.

I just don’t want it to get sent.. I will never do this again.
is this the norm for scammers?

Customer Replay

Well usually that is their game plan, yes.
But please, whatever he does, do NOT send him any money.
He will just ask for more.

ok I will not send him any money that’s for sure. Thanks for your help.. say a prayer for me to get out of this unscarred.!

Customer Replay

I will 🙏

thanks and good night
