I'm trying to connect my new vivoactive 4s but it keeps trying to connect my old (very old) garmin3

And you entered the Pairing mode on the Vivoactive?
I Uninstalled the app and reinstalled but it still looks for old Garmin 3. I have set my Bluetooth on phone to look for vivoactive 4s
You also need to switch your Vivoactive into Pairing mode, did you do that?

Please press and hold the Ⓑ button, then select ⚙ — Pair Phone to manually enter pairing mode
I think I've got it. Just as well I've used a Garmin previously or I may not have navigated your instructions
