I have a Samsung Galaxy A42 5G phone and it has muted all sounds on my phone

I cannot find in settings how to get the sounds back on. I cannot make or receive any phone calls because no one can hear me.

Hello, thank you for using Howly.
Have you already tried any ways to resolve the issue with your Samsung Galaxy A42?

I have gone into settings, then sounds and it says that all sounds are muted. I did not do it, the phone actually did it. It happened a couple of weeks ago and I had to go to the Verizon Store and pay them to corrrect the problem. Please help me out.

Got you
Please, try to do the following:

  1. Open the Settings app on your phone and go to Sounds and vibration.
  2. Set the Sound mode to Sound.
  3. Next, tap on Volume and use the sliders to increase the volume level.

The phone will not allow me to turn on sound. I can get the vibrate to light up but not the sound button. Also, there is a note underneath that bar and this is what it says "Mute all sounds turned on".

May I ask you to provide me a screenshot of that, please?
To take a screenshot: Press and hold the power key and the volume down key simultaneously. The screen will flash and your screenshot will be saved.
