I have a Lumix gh4 camera and cannot set the the quality or picture size as it is greyed out

Could you try this instruction?
- Press [MENU/SET]
- Press [UP]/[DOWN] arrows to select PICTURE SIZE and then press [MENU/SET].
- Press [UP]/[DOWN] arrows to select the picture size you would like to use and then press [MENU/SET] to select.
- Press [MENU/SET] to exit the menu.
I am not allowed to do 2. it is greyed out
that is what the manual says
Could you try to turn off, then turn on your camera and try again?
I have done that countless times
and removed the battery
Have you tried to reset it?
reset the camera? how do I do that
- The recording or setup/custom settings are reset to the default. Select the menu. Menu->Setup->Reset
- Confirmation screens are displayed in the sequence of the [Rec] settings and the [Setup]/[Custom] settings. It is executed when [Yes] is selected.
- The folder number and the clock setting are not changed.

Also please be careful and choose Reset, NOT Format, because data cannot be recovered after formatting
that worked, and I can now set it thx. now though the screen is not coming on, only through the view finder

yes the screen is not displaying now
What do you mean? Could you change your size now?
yes I can change the size so that reset worked. Now the screen on the back of the camera is not working, I can only use the viewfinder
All Lumix Digital Cameras have a built-in feature to conserve battery power. After a certain amount of inactivity, the LCD will power down to preserve the battery. Simply hit the SHTR button, and the LCD will turn ON.
that does not work here, let me find another battery
different battery, 2 bars out of three, still no display when hitting shutter
hit the lvf key and screen came on
