I have 2 Deco XE75, both worked perfectly but suddenly, the secondary one started disconnecting (changing from green to red to yellow to green) i tried resetting both, but to no avail

What can be the problem?

Hello, thank you for using Howly. I’ll be happy to help you out! May I ask your name?

Does only one Deco have this problem?

Have you tried swapping them?

Customer Replay

Yes, that time the original didn't work.. but I just swapped them, i dont know if they needed to reset or something
Sorry, I mean, both didn't work correctly

That is, after you swapped them, the first one stopped working
Oh, got it

Customer Replay

That is correct. But I can try again
Maybe reset them after I swap them

Can ask you to put them next to each other
Let's see if they work well

Customer Replay

The 2nd one was yellow when I reconnected, then started flashing red
Now green

Customer Replay

Yes

Then most likely the problem is that the stations were far from each other or something in the place where you had the 2nd station jams the signal

Customer Replay

Yep, I thought that was the case the problem is that the first month or two they worked perfectly on the spot they had always been..
I'll leave it next to each other, and if it disconnects again at this distance, what would you recommend I do?

Factory reset the device and set it up again from scratch

Customer Replay

Okok, what was the way to factory reset?
Also, i know the decos shouldn't be beside a TV, however my modem is literally behind the TV so i wanted to ask if here is a better option (with an extension)

Here are the steps to perform a factory reset on a TP-Link Deco device:

  1. Locate the reset button on the device. It is usually a small button located at the bottom or back of the
    device.
  2. Press and hold the reset button for 10 seconds or until the LED light on the device starts flashing.
  3. Release the button and wait for the device to restart.

  4. Set up the device again from scratch using the TP-Link Deco app.

Also, please consider that they used to work fine, that's the weird part

Thank you fke the instructions

You can use an extension cable to relocate the modem to a better location.

But the weird part is that it used to work, can a deco suddenly stop working?

The device may lost the connection, that's why it may stop working suddenly.
Don't worry, just follow the instructions below in order to fix this issue:

  1. Locate the reset button on the device. It is usually a small button located at the bottom or back of the device.
  2. Press and hold the reset button for 10 seconds or until the LED light on the device starts flashing.
  3. Release the button and wait for the device to restart.
  4. Set up the device again from scratch using the TP-Link Deco app.
In addition, you can use an extension cable to relocate the modem to a better location.
Customer Replay

Ok , I will try that
Thank you
