It has the same Apple ID with my phone

Hello, thank you for using Howly.
Do you mean the login password, right?

Customer Replay

Got it, thanks for clarifying that.

I see.
In this case, I recommend you to start up from macOS Recovery.
Determine whether you're using a Mac with Apple silicon, then follow the appropriate steps to start up from macOS Recovery:

  • Apple silicon: Turn on your Mac and continue to press and hold the power button until you see the startup options window. Select the gear icon labeled Options, then click Continue.
  • Intel processor: Turn on your Mac and immediately press and hold Command If you're asked to select an admin user you know the password for, click “Forgot all passwords?” and proceed as described below.

Please, let me know how everything is going.

Depends on the situation
If you're asked to select an admin user you know the password for, click “Forgot all passwords?” and proceed

Customer Replay

no forgot all passwords option

Okay, let’s try a different approach that can work better in this case

Customer Replay

OK

Use the Reset Password assistant
You should now see the utility window, which shows options such as restoring from Time Machine, reinstalling macOS, and using Disk Utility.

  1. From the utility menu in the menu bar, choose Terminal.
  2. In the Terminal window, type reset password, then press Return to open the Reset Password assistant.
  3. If you're asked to select an admin user you know the password for, click “Forgot all passwords?”.
  4. At the Reset Password window, click Deactivate Mac, then click Deactivate to confirm.
  5. If you see an Activation Lock window, enter your Apple ID email and password, then click Next.
    Keep me updated, please. Thanks!
