I am trying to pair phonak hearing aids with Samsung S20 phone

I get the messages "Couldn't connect LE (low energy) device, and "An app is needed to use this device." I am using the Phonak app to pair and connect. The S20 does pair but doesn't connect.

Hello, thank you for using Howly. I’ll be happy to help you out! May I ask your name?

Got it
What troubleshooting have you done so far?

Customer Replay

I've installed and reinstalled the phonak app and gone through the pairing process repeatedly.

My phone was previously connected to Jabra hearing aids that were ASHA compatible using bluetooth low energy but the Phonak hearing aids use regular bluetooth, not ASHA

Thank you for providing additional information!
Please make sure that the hearing aids are in Bluetooth pairing mode and have adequate battery power. For Bluetooth pairing mode, turn the hearing aids off and then back on. They will stay in pairing mode for several minutes.
