How do I enable com.google.android.documentsui in android

Im sorry. It comes up as a notification and only shows for 1-2 seconds. It says 'Please enable com.google.android.documentsui

At what step do you see this notification? When you open any specific app or something else?
The software displays a message stating that it needs a specific directory to be selected. when you press OK the screen clears and then displays the notification.

The sequence of events is the problem came up, I deleted the Book program and tried to reinstall it

No, It affects a second app without displaying the notification. This software does not respond tp keyboard input
Both software install ok but the problen arises when trying to change settings
What settings you are trying to change, please?
In the App, you mean?
In the software that displays the notification it states that it needs a root directory to be nominated. when you press ok in preparation to nominating the directory it shows the notification
And all this happens with the app called Smart Audiobook player?

- Open Settings > Apps
- Find the Options button - click on it.
- Choose - Reset app preferences
