Nice to meet you, *****!
Do you get that message on your PC screen?

Customer Replay

on my HP Envoy Photo 6255 I get an error message, it does not let me scroll through to even see what it is. I can power down and the printer will re boot, but error message comes back. OXB3C6A398
the error message is on the printer display itself,

Got it! Thank you!
I suggest you do the procedure below:

  1. Open Start and select "Settings > Devices > Printers and Scanners";
  2. Under "Related settings", select "Print Server Properties";
  3. Select the "Drivers" tab;
  4. In the list of installed drivers, select the printer driver and click "Remove";
  5. Select "Remove driver and driver package", and click Ok.
  6. If you get a confirmation prompt to "Remove Driver Package", click "Delete".

what does that error code mean before i go through all the disconnect and reconnect process

It does not look like the error message, HP usually gives text error messages. It looks like your printer's serial number.

Customer Replay

the printer display shows the error code... not my computer and |I cant print from my phone either. the wifi network signmal is lit up
it is not my serial number, I looked at it on the back

Is there any chance you can take a picture of that error message on your printer and attach it here in chat so I can take a look?

Customer Replay

i not sure I can down load a pic to this site, I can send you a pic on text message.

author

To attach your screenshot to our chat, you need to press the paper clip button in the lower right corner of the chat window. Then you have to choose an image and confirm sending.

but the emage would be on my cell phone not this computer... the display on the printer wont go back to home, or ? if i push those buttons.

I assume it doesn't let you open settings on your printer, correct?

Customer Replay

no everything in the display screen does not go, only the error code stays on the screen, the settings function is not displayed as it usually is on the screen in normal condition

author

Noted!
Let's try a power reset on the printer:
With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
Wait at least 60 seconds.
Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
Reconnect the power cord to the printer.
Turn the printer. HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.

I have powered down and back up several times.. it goes through the reboot, process then but then as it sat there it went back to the error code page. I tried that again a few times, and it goes to the error page message. I can do it again if you like.

author

Also, it would be great if you can take a photo of that error message and send it to us via email at help@howly.com

Customer Replay

Sure! Take your time!
Please let me know if you were able to send a photo to our email.

after a power down, the normal screen came back on in its normal position.. copy, scan, settings. I printed something from my phone, and it printed. So far no error code has come back.

author

Sounds great!
It looks like there was a software error and the hard reset instructions helped.

Customer Replay

funny thing is that i tried power down about 6 different times before, and it kept going to the error code. ???

author

I believe you turned off and on your printer without disconnecting the power cord from the rear of the printer with the printer turned on, that may be the case.

Customer Replay

no, I powered down by unplugging the power cord each time.

author

Yes, that's also the case, since there's still some power in the system.

Customer Replay

I will monitor it for the next few days, before I opt out of the full time monthly charge.

author

Sounds like a plan.
