When someone texts me on WhatsApp I cannot get it to ding or ping to let me know it has arrived

Yes. When I open my phone there is a written text but no sound alert. I have and iPhone 11 and have deleted the app and then reinstalled as well as having restarted the phone twice.

Try to reset your settings:

  1. Go to "Settings" and hit "General".
  2. Go to "Reset" and hit "Reset All Settings" Will it erase all content and settings?
    It should affect only settings, not content. But let me check it, please

Reset All Settings doesn't erase any of your data such as files, documents, photos, videos, notes, email, or apps. It will only delete your settings. All notifications should work like on a new device after it
