The handsets on my BT4500 are not working

Hello, thank you for using Howly.
What troubleshooting have you done with your BT4500 so far?

we have tried to ring the set using our moblies . the base unit rings but no answer on handset
If we ring using this method we get an answer cannot be taken at the moment

when we try and riing out on the handset we have no dialling tone
message on display at the moment is Handset 1 7 new calls

yes all we have tried is as explained above. we have done no other attempt at troubleshooting

Please, make sure that you're using the line cord that came with the phone as a different cord may not be suitable.

we are using the original cord as supplied with the phone

Please, check that both ends of the line cord are securely connected

Please, check that both ends of the power adapter are securely plugged in

Got it, please, power off the handset, wait for a minute, and then turn it on again to reset your handset

on replacing the handset the message says no base unit check base

we have 2 flashing red zeros on display it is about 15 to 20 feet away from base in another room in the house - in same site as it has been at time of purchase about 15 years ?
