Another way is to press and hold the “rpm” and the “finished in” buttons together until you hear a beep and the symbol disappears.
there is a beep but the lock sign stays

If your washing machine has the advanced touch screen display, there should be an illuminated square button with a key symbol and “3 sec” underneath. Simply hold the button down for three seconds, the button will darken and you should hear a beep.
