i moved to florida recently and when i got my ps4 finally hooked back up i assume a file or something became corrupt and the only thing the system will let me do is initialize but before i do i want to try and get my save data and potentially my trophy set data off of the hard drive and then move it to a different hard drive i can use on my ps4 i downloaded some software to let me look at the files but i have no idea what im looking at or if what im trying to do is even possible

Got it.
Can you boot into your PS4, or it says about initialization on startup without getting you into the main menu?

Customer Replay

well it boots up into a forced safe mode about an update file on a usb tried that and it didnt work so i manually booted into safe mode and the only option i could select was initialization and i would rather not do that

Got it.
I recommend you back up all the files you scanned on your computer. Then try initializing. After it, if the files are missing, you can copy the backup data back to your PS4 Drive. Also, it is possible that your save files are kept online if you were using PS Plus Subscription.

Customer Replay

i was but the reason im doing all of this is i didnt have internet for a month before my move and so nothing was uploaded also i have another ps4 hard drive thats ready to go i initially thought it was a hardware issue with the console so i bought another one so all im really trying to do now is find my save data on this hard drive and the trophy information and then find a way to transfer to the good hard drive but i dont know how and i dont know what files i would need to move

Got it.
Try to backup ALL the files for the safety reason.

Customer Replay

alright i have that going now but the main issue at hand

Got it.
The thing is that if you can't boot your PS4 and proceed to Settings to backup your save data there, the only way here is to back up all the hard drive as you do.

Customer Replay

its just this hard drive it seems has a corrupted file or something so not sure what to do about that i could try transferring everything from this hard drive to my other but then the issue would still be there

I suggest you to try this first, anyway, *****.

Customer Replay

i have to ask if theres a software you recommend me to use other than the 1 im using because its just something i found on google and its not that great

You can use this one: https://www.easeus.com/datarecoverywizardpro/
However, it has very similar restoring functions.
Is there anything else I can do for you today?

Customer Replay

just wondering how i would copy my files back to the hard drive after initializing if id need a different software for that

You can recover your data from initialized disk

Customer Replay

so back up my data initialize and then use the same software to scan and recover the data?

Customer Replay

alright perfect thanks was a big help
