I'm trying to watch the menu on X-box and I'm being blocked by parental controls

You can click on the heading that says User Accounts and Family Safety. Once you are in it, you will see Parental Controls. Click on it and set it to off. This will turn off the parental controls that might be on for any user account.
Please check your Xbox.

Privacy & online safety... And family settings

  1. Select Family Settings. Alternatively, if you want to adjust the content settings on your own account, select Content Restrictions instead.
  2. Select Manage Family Members.
  3. Select the account you want to disable restrictions for.
  4. Select Access to Content.

My daughter is too old for any restrictions she's off to college in a couple years. Can I just turn this off?

Yes of course, please follow the guide to turn it off.
