I have checked that the cold water feed tap is on .
Could you please tell me when and how did the problem occur?
It was installed on Thursday and I wanted to do a load of washing today as it looks to be a good drying day. Intially I think the child lock was on. Turned that off and started the programme. The washing looked to be dry so stopped it pulled the machine out to check that cold water feed tap was turned on.
Is there any chance that '3' in your error code is actually 'E'?
If you could take a photo on your phone and show me the panel it would help a lot

It's the triangle above the start/pause button.

Regarding your explanations, the machine is on the Eco 40-60 programme and the flashing triangle means the programme can be started or continued.
Please make a good press on Start button to turn the programme on if that's what you wanted to do in the first place as you've said

No key icon. Display had gone dark but when I pressed start 1400, 3.50 and flashing triangle came up.

Yes
You might hold the start button down too short or too long.
To start a program, you will need to press and hold the start button slightly longer than the other buttons on the washing machine, approximately 1 to 2 seconds. A brief press will not be sufficient. If the button is held down too long, a double audible beep will be heard and the washing machine will not start.
Ok I'll try a short push and if no luck a long push.

Good news. Short push started drum rotating and after a few turns I could hear water running.
